Visual learners prefer to visualize information/data to see relationships. Videos are a great way for visual learners to see the process and make sense of it, before doing it. Kinesthetic learners prefer to experience and they learn best by doing. Following along with video tutorials can be the best way for this hands-on learner to understand the construction best.
Auditory readers prefer to listen, which makes podcast a great choice for starting any new hobby, especially sewing. Most podcast are full of rich information from people who have had success doing what you are interested in, and from people who started off where you are. Reading learners prefer tangible text. Books and guides on how to start, and step by step instructions on how to do. Writing learners are similar to reading learners in which they prefer text, however they prefer to make the text themselves. Drawing/sketching in sewing is important to creating designs for projects you would like to execute.
